Splendour of Modernism

Spectacular ! So this book , album, 30x30 cm and 600 pages profusely illustrated , it is necessary to know to be an issue essential aspects of modernism that emerged in Barcelona and its area of influence.

It is curious to note how a movement so powerful that at the time was so well received and appreciated , had such a bad press and was treated as hostile after its peak. Just as surprising that today occupies a prominent place in the history of art and , in addition , cultural tourism is the main attraction of the city of Barcelona, thanks to the passage of time and the studios of renowned authors n ' have revalued the aesthetic aspects , social and economic . For this reason such contributions are welcome , which , beyond images showing modernist elements relevant to explain what was the origin of this ism .

And that's been proposed that the authors of this book, presenting the basics modernism , which undoubtedly achieved through a joint educational and enlightening reminiscent of Europe in 1900 and speaks of the industrial revolution, the emerging bourgeoisie , capital contributed by the fortunes and rural Indians , etc., is Adir , which exposes the set of circumstances that led to a flourishing culture that was particularly visible in the architecture , arts , literature and music, a blast that extended in particular to Sitges with stunning figure Rusiñol . On appeal , the book , the weight is taken by the strong architecture , both civil and industrial and religious , and have special importance Gaudi, Domenech i Montaner and Puig , but also Balrogs . Alludes the work of other eminent architects, as were Jujol Sayrach . The other major section is devoted to arts and crafts , which enables us to mainstreaming movement , as stressed also in ceramics, flooring , stained glass , furniture , sculpture, jewelry and painting.

Entire life cycle of modernism, its appearance , splendor and decline , then, clearly explained in a book that seamlessly blends text and image , while also reveals details which hitherto had not done carefully.
